Innova Kitchens and Baths opens integrated Green Showroom / Design Office
When Innova Kitchens and Baths decided that it was time to move their showroom into the upscale Dunbar / Kerrisdale area of Vancouver, the challenge was to create a showroom which would demonstrate more functionality, incorporate green finishes, include an entire office, and do so in 1/5th the space.
With only about 500 square feet of functional space that could be dedicated to the showroom / design centre, this might have appeared as an impossibility to many. However, with design skills earned by years in the industry, owner's Paul Coker and Lee Stergios set about doing just that. As they do for clients project, Paul and Lee first started with a litany of requirements for both a state-of-the-art showroom as well as an efficient design office. Then began the arduous task of creating and critiquing numerous designs looking at everything from form and functionality, to design aesthetic and finishes.
For example, Innova's flagship display in a stunning African Mahogany demonstrates kitchen cabinetry functionality such as pantry metal pull-out systems, a metal tambour appliance garage, custom Wine X, top lit cabinet boxes with energy efficient LED pucklighting, bi-fold and pockets doors, not to mention a magic corner, recycle pull-out, garbage and cleaner storage, as well as soft-close door and drawers. The real magic of this display comes to life when one realizes that this kitchen display integrates Innova's new computer server and networking hardware, new greener laser printer/copier/fax machine with double sided printing, as well as their full colour CAD printer.
The showroom design centre also displays an armoire that doubles as Innova's catalog library, a modern second kitchen display in an environmentally green contemporary Maple Stria that demonstrates three types of cabinet door lifts and multiple drawer styles and solutions, a display island that houses two desk stations and an integrated presentation space, an antique style hutch display that holds wood finish samples, and a display that houses door samples as well as serving as a station for fabrics.
Once the functional requirements for the new showroom / office were met, Paul and Lee faced the difficult job of selecting materials and finishes that would not only demonstrate a wide variety of possible finishes but would also coordinate with one another. The result is a sophisticated mix of finishes such as African Mahogany, American Cherry in a custom finish, Walnut, Heirloom Cherry in a Black aged finish, environmentally green finishes such as engineered Maple Strias and bamboo, as well as countertops materials in engineered stones, granite, marble, butcher block and glass.
The result? A space which uses a fraction of the footprint and energy of their original offices, that feels large and spacious while crammed full of design surprises, and a space that demonstrates the power of superior interior design and renovation. Looking to book your design/renovation appointment? Paul and Lee can be reached at 604-676-1603, at their new design centre located at 5739 Collingwood Street in Vancouver, www.innovakitchens.com.

How should I deal with this? If i earn less, do I have less of a say in marriage?
Hi,
When we got married, my wife had done her UG. She wanted to do a masters but her parents did not have the resources to fund her. As in India, they got her married, when they could no longer support her.
After marriage, for 3 years, she was a house-wife. She told me her desire to do Masters one day. I told her that she could do her masters if she wanted to and that I?d fund that. She agreed. I was happy to pay the tuition and other expenses, from my moderate resources. I was truly happy I was helping a woman with potential, as she was a topper in her bachelors. I knew if she did her masters, she would go above me. I felt it was my duty to help my loved one soar higher than me.
She did her Masters, and came out with a great result. A reputed company hired her on campus interview. I was happy for her when she got a job with a pay higher than I get, but her attitude changed over 6 months.
She started talking stuff like ?It?s my money, why should I give you??. She has also said that I earn less, and I have less of a say in matters. She then created a new account for herself and shifted her salary to that.
Till today, she has not given any money for any reason to me. All house hold expenditures have been borne by me only. When she gave Rs. 10, 000 for an urgent need, she still asks it back, saying I borrowed from her. She invests in land in her name only.
She has bought a new Innova, but does not let me drive it! She usually uses it for her own needs. I use the old Maruti. She says I need to earn a car myself to enjoy. I wonder what she would have said if I told that in the initial days. The wonder is she uses my assets uninhibitedly, and says by law, she has rights to her husband?s property.
Now, when she was a house wife, I never ever insulted her. I was supportive of her career. But now, see what I get back!
Don?t you think this is injustice and in-gratitude from her? When a wife has all rights on her husband?s property and earnings, he also has a right on what she earns, right?
I am not saying all women are bad or that all men are good. It?s a mixed bag. I know.

Changing my cat's food?
I'm changing my 6/7 month old kitty's food from Iams dry kitten food, to Innova Evo Cat & Kitten Dry food.
I'm also changing her wet food to the Evo, but for now I think it'd be best to just change the dry and give her a tiny bit of the wet every once in a while.
The thing is, she doesn't really like the Iams, so when I tried to put a little bit of the Evo, and the rest iams, she'd pick out the Evo, and once there was only Iams she would just sniff it and walk away.
I started increasing the amount of Evo, but after maybe a week of her just picking it out, I switched completely since she wouldn't eat the Iams. Anyways, she would practically not even touch the Iams.
She likes the Innova Evo a lot, though, and eats it right up.
She was previously dewormed, then on an antibiotic, then treated for fleas as a precaution, so when she had the worms she had liquid poop, got a little better, then got worse from the medicine, but not as before. Right now she's getting a little more runny poop with bits of the firmer stool, probably because of the food switch. However, I am trying Ark Naturals Gentle Digest, I gave it to her 3 days, because I forgot yesterday.
ANYWAYS, to the point, my question is, how long should it take to transition?
And how long until her tummy gets better and she gets used to the new food?
