Loose Weight by using a Frisbee
What is a warm summer or spring day without the use of Frisbees? Imagine this scenario. It is a beautiful day. You pack up your food and shuffle your family into the car and head to your favorite picnic spot. After dinner, your kids take out their Frisbees and start tossing them around. Before long, the dogs join in. Yes, Frisbees are great because they are portable and you can take them anywhere. The beach, hiking, to your favorite picnic spot- Frisbees are perfect for all of these.
Frisbees come in all different sizes and are made of different materials, such as foam and plastic. But the purpose and the point remain the same. They are thrown with a flick of the wrist and sail in a perfect rotating disk-shaped space through the air. The recipient, be it animal or man, catches it and either runs back with it, or throws it to the next person. There are also organized games that people can play with their Frisbees, such as ultimate Frisbee.
The concept of the flying disc, or Frisbee, is not new. Throwing rounded disk shapes such as cake pans for sport is actually an old pastime. Think about what skeet shooting is. These are clay disks that are shot in the air by an automatic machine. People on the other end of the field target it with their gun and fire a round or two until the plate breaks. Shooting at rounded discs is an old concept.
College students began throwing pie plates for recreation. They would throw them so they rotated through the air. Several companies tried to manufacture a plastic disc-shaped toy for sport, but they didn't really catch on. Then, Wham-O created the "Frisbee" which was named to honor the pastime of throwing the "Frisbie" pie plates as a game. When Wham-O came out with their Frisbees, the toy gained widespread popularity.
Now, stroll through any college campus, beach, or picnic site on a beautiful day and chances are, you will find someone playing a game of Frisbee. Ever since Wham-O came out with their version, other companies have followed. Now there are plastic Frisbees, Frisbees made of foam, small ones, glow in the dark ones, and Frisbees that are made of all different colors and patterns.
